GREENE – The Greene Trojans boys basketball team snapped a seven-game winning streak in the 63-47 loss to Walton on Tuesday evening. Despite the loss, Greene stands tall at 12-5 for the season with a 7-2 MAC record, tied with Bainbridge-Guilford.
Walton, who had a setback against Unadilla Valley a few weeks ago, looked sharp with at least 30 points scored in both halves, including a 33-18 lead at halftime.
The Trojans were limited offensively, and couldn’t make defensive stops in order to build any momentum. They pulled through in the second half, but Walton’s 20 points in the third quarter did not help any comeback efforts.
Jaden Eroshevich led Greene and all scorers of the contest with 23 points. He went 11-for-13 at the free-throw line, which set the team up at 73 percent from the line on the night. William Dunlap finished behind him with 10 points with Liam Flanagan and Joel Vielandi limited to seven points in the loss.
Greene heads to Afton on Friday at 7 p.m.
