OTSELIC – The Unadilla Valley Storm boys basketball team faced the Otselic Valley Vikings for the second time this season on Thursday evening. OV needed the win to guarantees a spot in sectionals.
The Storm defeated OV 52-42 to pick up their sixth win of the season.
Both teams brought a fierce defensive battle into the match-up throughout the entire game. OV took a brief 21-20 lead at halftime before the Storm came to play in the third quarter. UV scored 19 points over OV’s nine, which was the overall advantage to secure the victory.
Tucker Cattanach posted a double-double for the Storm as he had 15 points and 11 rebounds on the night. Trason Murray, coming off a hot three-point game, finished behind him with 14 points and hit two three’s.
Braeden Davis continues to lead the Vikings like he’s done all season and led all scorers with 24 points. But with being the only player to reach double-digits for his team hurt OV in the end despite a strong defense. Owen Davis and Cole Warren both tied with seven points each in the loss.

UV heads to Oxford on Tuesday at 7 p.m. They are 6-12 and tied with Oxford and Sidney with a 4-6 MAC record.
OV (7-11) have two regular season games remaining. Their next game is this evening as they host Stockbridge Valley at 7 p.m.
