SHERBURNE – It was surely a great game on senior night at Sherburne-Earlville high school on Friday evening as the Marauders took down the Sidney Warriors 79-67. The high-scoring game was a back-and-forth affair before S-E ran away with it in the final eight minutes of play.
Prior to the game, S-E honored its three seniors; Carter Supensky, Rylan Sigman, and Jack Rodman. All three have been an asset to the Marauders basketball program for at least four years while they were also members on the football team. The three have big dreams to attend respective colleges in the fall and S-E is very thankful for their commitment and dedication over the last four years.
The seniors got the start, which Sigman led all seniors with 16 points as Rodman had 11. Supensky had chances, but could not succeed in making his senior basket. All five leading scorers for S-E posted double-digit scoring with #22 Aaron Key having a night with 22 points and knocked down four three’s in the win.
S-E could not contain Connor Van der Sommen as he scored 32 points and a tall Jalen Reardon with 27 points, but the defense held their ground to finish on top in the end.
S-E (5-15) will wait on their next game as it is still being determined at this time.
