GREENE – After falling to Bainbridge-Guilford for a chance at the MAC title, the Greene Trojans boys basketball team faced Unatego/Franklin in the MAC Consolation game. Greene came away with a 49-31 victory to prepare them for sectionals.
Greene started strong on both ends of the court. They held Unatego/Franklin to 12 points in the first half while setting themselves up nicely on offense to take a 24-12 lead at halftime.
As the Spartans became more comfortable in the third quarter, Greene didn’t let up their consistency on offense. The Trojans even held their opponent to five points in the final eight minutes of play to secure the win.
William Dunlap paved the way for Greene with 15 points and went four-for-six at the free-throw line.
Jaden Eroshevich finished behind him with 14 points.
Greene (13-6) is a seventh seed in sectionals and will host 10th seed Walton on Tuesday at 6 p.m. Admissions will be charged for all rounds through the GOFAN Digital Ticketing platform.
