NORWICH – The Chenango County Historical Society (CCHS) is proud to announce that the museum’s Archivist and Collections Coordinator Zachary Greenefield has been selected for a professional development scholarship funded by the William G. Pomeroy Foundation.

The Museum Association of New York (MANY) recently announced that Greenfield is among 25 museum professionals selected from across New York state who will attend the conference “Finding Center: Access, Inclusion, Participation, and Engagement” later this month with full financial support.

“I’m incredibly thankful to the Pomeroy Foundation for this opportunity,” said Greenfield. “Attending the MANY 2023 conference will allow me to learn new techniques from museum professionals in order to share the stories of Chenango County.”

Greenfield’s scholarship includes conference registration, travel, special event fees, and a complimentary MANY annual membership. Awardees were selected through a competitive process, with applications being reviewed by a panel that included members of MANY’s board of directors.

First established in 1939, CCHS is the primary organization dedicated to actively and comprehensively preserving the history of Chenango County. The area’s premier heritage museum, the organization celebrates local culture – unique traditions, noteworthy residents, and unusual stories of the region.

Regular hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday through Friday, and admission is a free-will donation left up to each visitor’s discretion. CCHS programs are made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
