WALTON – Coming off a close win against Schenevus to start the season, the Afton Crimson Knights faced Walton on Monday. Afton defeated the Warriors with a 15-0 shutout victory.
The Crimson Knights provided two runs in the first, two in the third, three in the fourth before ending their offensive day with eight final runs in the sixth. Three Afton pitchers combined to throw the two-hit shutout.
Afton produced 10 hits on the day with Hunter Baciuska leading the team with two RBIs on the day while eight players contributed with one run batted in. Teammate Ryan Wright went 3-for-4 with two extra base hits (double and triple) while Carter Burns had two hits, including an RBI double. Matt Carman also drove in a run off an RBI triple.
On the mound, Braydon Baciuska went three strong innings in his second start. He allowed two hits, two walks, and struck out three to pick up the win. Justin Reeve and Jacob Wright each pitched at least an inning and a third, where they only allowed one base runner each on a walk.
Afton (2-0) will face Unatego this afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
