BAINBRIDGE – After falling to Delhi on Tuesday, the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats took the field again on Wednesday, hosting Schenevus. Off the hot bat of Connor Davy and the rest of the Bobcats offense, B-G won the game 20-10 and are now 2-2 on the season.
Connor Davy hit for the cycle in the win, starting off his outing with an RBI triple in the first and an inside the park home run in the third inning. He also reached base on a walk before finishing his offensive day off with a double and a single in his final at-bats. Davy, along with teammate Jose Bivar, drove in three runs to lead a strong offense.
The Bobcats scored seven runs in the second inning and six in the third to establish a strong lead. Schenevus tacked on three runs in the third, fifth, and sixth innings, but were blown away by a strong B-G team who outhit them 16-9.
Nolan Hawkins earned the win on the mound for the Bobcats. He went 5.1 innings, allowing eight runs (seven earned) on six hits, four walks, and struck out 11 batters. Tim Kinter finished the game in relief.
B-G (2-2) heads to Delhi on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
Also, congratulations to the Bainbridge-Guilford softball team who picked up their third win of the season last night to start the season undefeated. They defeated Milford/Laurens 15-5. Celeste Baldwin with 11 strikeouts on the mound and drove home three RBIs. Danica Park led the Bobcats with four RBIs in the win. B-G will travel to Greene this afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
