OTSELIC – After falling in the first two games of the season, the Otselic Valley-Cincinnatus Vikings earned their first win in a 12-10 victory against Onondaga.
In Friday’s win, the Vikings trailed 9-4 after the third inning before making a full comeback. OV scored seven runs in their final at-bats to earn a victory at the end of the day.
Paving the way for the Vikings was eighth grader Troy Miller. Miller was perfect at the plate, going 3-for-3 and drove in four RBIs. Braeden Davis (2-for-3), Hunter Rozewski (1-for-3), and Cole Warren (1-for-4) all drove in one run in their plate appearances.
Caleb Loomis earned the start on the mound, which started off shaky as Onondaga scored eight runs in two innings off mishaps by the defense. However, Loomis got through the jitters and only allowed one run afterwards. He earned the win and struck out two batters in sixth and two-third innings. Braeden Davis picked up the save as he came in for the final out, striking out the final batter.
OV-Cincinnatus (1-2) will host McGraw on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
