UNATEGO – The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats softball team continues to shine as they picked up a 6-2 win over Unatego on Tuesday afternoon. After four consecutive wins, where they tacked on 15 runs or more, it was unusual to see such a low scoring game.

After two scoreless innings, the Bobcats got on the board first 1-0 as Alessandra Cafasso brought in a runner on third on a groundout. Cafasso led B-G with two hits on the day. J. Henderson also drove in a run on a single, providing the only two RBIs.

Unatego scored two runs in the fifth inning while trailing 3-0 in the contest. However, B-G added on from some mishaps made by the Spartans defense. The Bobcats scored three runs in the seventh to seal the victory. One run came on a stolen base while the remaining runs were scored on a wild pitch and an error.

Celeste Baldwin started on the mound for B-G and went four and two-third innings. She allowed the two runs on three hits, walked three batters while striking out five. Gabriella Cuozzo finished the game in relief and gave up a hit and walked one batter, but struck out three.

B-G (8-1) looks to add on to their win-streak as they face a tough Deposit-Hancock team. The game is Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
