AFTON – The Afton Crimson Knights baseball team is rolling on a four-game winning streak after defeating Walton in shutout fashion 11-0 on Wednesday afternoon. Afton improves to 7-3 on the season with three upcoming road games.
The Crimson Knights pounded 12 hits while holding Walton to just two hits throughout the entire seven innings played. Afton’s big at-bats came from Jacob Stiner, Braden Sadlemire, Jacob Wright, and Hunter Baciuska, who all provided two hits in three plate appearances.
Afton took an early 2-0 lead in the first before adding a run in the second. The Crimson Knights then had a big third inning, adding on four more runs. Justin Reeve, Sadlemire, and Tyler Kelly (ground-out) each contributed with RBIs in the inning. Jacob Wright and Reeve both led the team with two RBIs in the win.
Ryan Wright was phenomenal on the mound for Afton. He pitched a complete game, only allowing two hits and no other base runners with zero walks, and he struck out 17 batters.
Afton (7-3) travels to Sidney on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
