DEPOSIT– The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats softball team faced a tough Deposit-Hancock team on Thursday afternoon. The Bobcats were rolling on a five-game winning streak until the Eagles snapped it with a 16-1 victory.

The Eagles scored in every inning and took advantage of B-G’s defensive mishaps throughout the contest. They scored four runs in the first before B-G answered back with their only run in the second inning.

J. Henderson reached base to start the second inning as she was hit by the pitch and advanced to second on a wild pitch. She moved to third on a bunt single and scored on a sacrifice bunt by Brenna George. Gabriella Cuozzo (double), Celeste Baldwin, and Breanna Casey also provided hits in the loss, but the Bobcats failed to score another run.

Celeste Baldwin was shaken up early in the first inning on the mound and Cuozzo came in to relieve her in the second inning and pitched the remainder of the game.

B-G still stands tall at 8-2 on the season and hosts Walton on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
