MADISON – The Otselic Valley Vikings softball team is on a roll, winning their last three games, including Wednesday’s 16-12 win against Madison. The Vikings are one game under .500 with a 4-5 record with two regular season games left. Both teams looked strong offensively, but it was OV that pushed the scoring early on to maintain their lead.
Madison and OV both scored three runs in the first inning before OV powered through with five runs in the second and four in the third inning. The Vikings kept scoring in the next three innings to hold their lead. Madison threatened in the bottom of the seventh inning with three runs, but OV’s defense stood their ground to secure the victory.
Cassidy Will lead the Vikings on the mound and at the plate. She scored in all five plate appearances. She had three hits, including a pair of singles and a double. Miranda Hackett also had three hits with two doubles and drove in four runs. Paige Will and Emma Rooker had two hits each while Tori Foster, Carlie Golden, and Riley Bartlett all had one hit in the win. Paige Will also drove in three runs in five plate appearances.
