LITTLE FALLS – After falling in two straight matches to a tough Hamilton team, the Sherburne-Earlville golf team got back on track with wins against Owen D. Young and Herkimer. S-E defeated Owen D. Young by a score of 197-232 while defeating Herkimer 195-235.
In Tuesday’s win over Owen D. Young, Garret Winton led all golfers with a 46 on the par 35 course. Parker Goedel followed with a 48 while Charlie Potrzeba shot a 50 and Balin Olsen with a 53.
Owen D. Young’s top golfer finished with a 49 while the other three shot scores of 60, 61, and 62.
In Wednesday’s win over Herkimer, Winton slightly improved with a score of 45 at the Mohawk Valley Golf Center’s par 35 course. Avery Parsons received playing time in this match, where he finished behind Winton with a 48. Charlie and Balin also golfed and improved. Charlie shot another 50 while Balin finished with a 52.
Herkimer’s top golfer shot a 56 while the others had scores of 56, 60, and 63.
S-E is currently 4-2 through six matches played and travels to Mount Markham this afternoon for their four straight contest, beginning at 3:30 p.m.
