CHENANGO COUNTY – The Unadilla Valley/Sherburne-Earlville, Greene, and Bainbridge-Guilford softball teams are proud to be representing Chenango County in the Section IV postseason this year. All three teams finished strong in the MAC to earn a bid.
The Unadilla Valley/Sherburne-Earlville softball team is under the Section IV, Class B tournament as the 10th seed. The Storm finished 6-4 in the MAC and 8-5 overall.
UV-SE travels to Lansing for the first round of Sectionals on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. Lansing is listed as the seventh seed with a 9-6 record out of the Interscholastic conference. If the Storm advances to the next round, they will face the number two seeded Windsor Black Knights on Tuesday.
The Greene Trojans know their way around the Section IV, Class C tournament after winning it all last season. After winning the MAC championship and finishing with a 12-3 record, they received a first round bye in sectionals as the fourth seed. They host Tioga (9-7) on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
After a rough end of season for the B-G Bobcats, they remain hopeful as the seventh seed. They finished the MAC in third place behind Deposit-Hancock and Greene with a 7-3 league record and a 11-7 record overall. B-G hosts Groton (6-9) on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
Good luck to all teams. Admission is not charged until the Sectional championships. The Sectional championship will be held in Horseheads for all of Section IV.
