NEW BERLIN - After the fifth week of play on May 31, there are two teams leading the South New Berlin Horseshoe Club as Carey’s AG Spreader Service (Darla Smith and Sheryl Thurston) and Team 15 (John Grossmann and Christopher Delfino) both have a 14.5-5.5 record. However, Carey’s AG currently has the advantage with 806 points over Team 15’s 676. Potter’s Tires stayed put in the third spot while Roger’s Best Value Tire and Auto moved up from seventh to fourth. Rolling M Stables also had a big jump from ninth to fifth place, pushing Rustic Ridge to sixth.

The top men’s list saw some changes as well with Al Patten taking over both leaderboards. He won against Dale Lund and John Edwards for the high singles and over Lund and Ron Anderson for high series. Al's highest game was a 76 over Lund’s 73 and Edwards’ 70. Al finished with a high series of a 224 over Lund’s 202 and Anderson’s 191.

Lund and his partner Anderson of Rustic Ridge swept the team high singles and high series. In the team high singles, they scored a best 141 over Potter’s Tires’ 134. For the high series, Rustic Ridge scored a 393 over Fun Lovers’, the new team name for Tim Lidell and Mike Grant, 352. Potter’s Tires and Webster Paving split the victories in the team handicap high singles and high series.

For the women, Kate Lloyd led both the high singles and high series with Cindy Miller and Sheryl Thurston behind her. Lloyd had a 72 for high game and finished with a 180 high series.

The South New Berlin Horseshoe Club meets every Wednesday night.
