NORWICH –  The Gus Macker Tournament registration deadline is approaching fast for 2023. After 210 teams came to play in 2022, the beloved tournament is returning to Norwich for its 26th year on July 8 and 9. This is the second year it will be at Norwich High School.

Gus Macker is for everyone of any age, any gender, with any to no experience required. If you’re interested in playing in this year’s tournament, please mail in or submit your application online. The mail in deadline is June 19 while the online deadline is June 21. These dates are fast approaching, but could also be extended if needed. Team application forms can be picked up at the Norwich YMCA and once filled out, they can be mailed to the Gus Macker headquarters in Belding, Michigan. Online forms can be filled out on macker.com under the Norwich, NY tournament.

The registration fee is $180 per team. Once these deadlines approach, the YMCA and Gus Macker can determine teams that are computer-matched by age, height, and playing experience at that given time. The number of teams then determines how many courts will be needed.

If you’re not interested in playing, there are other ways to get involved. Currently, there are sign ups at the YMCA front desk for anyone interested in volunteering to help set up or clean up afterwards.
