NORWICH – An invasion from across the sea is storming the Northeast Classic Car Museum in a new exhibit entitled “Motion from Across the Ocean.” The new exhibit will open to the public on Sunday, June 18 at 9 a.m.

The new exhibit will be on display through April 2024. The museum changes out part of the more than 200 vehicles on display every year in celebration of the first exhibit opening 26 years ago in 1997.

The new exhibit “Motion from Across the Ocean” features 26 foreign sports cars in total, spanning from the early 1950s to the turn of the 21st Century. For the first time in the museum’s history, visitors will experience an entire exhibit centered on cars from foreign countries. The exhibit will feature an assortment of iconic car brands from BMW, Porsche, MG, Jaguar, and more. Some of the vehicles on display in the new exhibit will include a 1957 Jaguar XK 140, 1971 Datsun 240Z and 2000 Acura Integra Type R.

Robert M. Jeffrey, Executive Director of the Northeast Classic Car Museum, said, “The Motion from Across the Ocean Exhibit has some very rare and iconic foreign sports cars dating from the 1950s to 2000s. As long as the automobile has been in existence, people have wanted the top performing and fastest vehicles; and with sport cars, people get fast and stylish vehicles.”

“For the past 26 years, it has been a main focus of the museum to display American-made vehicles that detail the history of the automobile; so this foreign sports car exhibit is a first ever for the Northeast Classic Car Museum," he continued. "We are looking forward to visitors traveling from far and wide to visit Norwich and to see this special exhibit.”

The Northeast Classic Car Museum Exhibit Committee has been busy working hard the past year selecting sports cars for this exhibit, and they have added cars in our Pre-War and Post-War Exhibits, which features some of the rarest cars and motorcycles in American History.

The Museum is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 7 days per week. The Museum is on one level, wheelchair accessible, and scooters are available. The museum is closed three days per year on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas, and Easter Sunday. Admission is $15 for adults, $8 for children ages 6 to 18 years old, children under 6 years old are free.
