NORWICH – Colorscape Chenango Arts Festival has unveiled the lineup of performers appearing on the NBT Mainstage at the nationally-recognized fine arts festival this September 9 and 10. The NBT Mainstage is home to nationally and regionally recognized bands and solo performers, emphasizing folk, blues, and rock.
The NBT Mainstage is located in East Park and is a large, permanent, high-quality covered stage. Ken Millet and Night Eagle Productions manage this stage for the arts festival.
Celeste Friend, Colorscape Chenango Arts Festival Executive Director, said, “I’m excited about another great year! We have just the right mix of our favorite performers, new groups, and new music that we can’t wait to fall in love with."
Mustard’s Retreat will kick off the festival on Saturday, starting at 10 a.m. The duo has traveled over a million miles globally and performed over 6,000 shows.
“Colorscape Chenango is always one of the highlights of the year for us: everything is first class, from the artists to the musical lineup and production, to how we are treated, and I always get some of my Christmas shopping done,” said David Tamulevich of Mustard’s Retreat.
Shanelle Gabriel, this year's poet, will continue with the show following the opening ceremony. The Kennedys, The Christine Spero Group, Leni Stern and Friends, Paper Sun, and The Slambovian Circus of Dreams wrap up the first day.
The second day of Colorscape begins again with Autumn Sun, followed by The Kennedys, The Sloan Wainwright Band, Adam Ezra Group, and Prof. Louie and the Crowmatix with The Woodstock Horns wraps up the festival.
When asked who board president Laura Parker is looking forward to most, she said, “I am most excited to hear Adam Ezra Group perform. I love their enthusiasm for their music and their down-to-earth sound.”
In addition to the NBT Mainstage, the festival has two other entertaining stages. This year Peggy’s Stage is welcoming three new acts: Lourdes Tai Chai and festival favorite Mark Sands/Realtime Dixieland Band. The Art Zone Stage offers family-friendly musical performers, storytellers, jugglers, and fun acts. Attendees to the festival can find information on all 2023 performers at Colorscape.org.
Recognized as one of the country's top 100 classic and contemporary craft shows by Sunshine Artist Magazine, Colorscape Chenango has celebrated premier artists in downtown Norwich since 1995. This free, two-day festival in September features over 100 creators displaying and selling their paintings, sculptures, fabric art, fine crafts, photography, and more. Colorscape also offers nationally renowned musical performers, poetry and literary arts, food, and interactive art activities for all ages.
The 2023 Colorscape will be held rain or shine on September 9 and 10 in East and West Parks in Norwich.
The Colorscape Chenango Arts Festival is made possible with public funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, and administered by The Earlville Opera House.
