NEW BERLIN - The South New Berlin Horseshoe Club had a bit of a setback in the last few weeks with the uncooperative weather forecast. However, the club was able to make up several games to have an active leaderboard as of June 21.
Carey’s AG Spreader Service (Darla Smith and Sheryl Thurston) still hold a dynamic lead with several changes made to other positions in the standings. The ladies currently have a record of 20.5-7.5 with 1133 points.
When they last left off on May 31, Dale Lund and Ron Anderson of Rustic Ridge were fighting for a spot in the top five, falling short in the sixth spot. Since catching up, the gentlemen now sit in second place with a 18.5-9.5 record and with the highest club points of 2870. Potter’s Tires, Roger’s Best Value Tire & Auto, and Prolifiq Sign Studio (big move) round out the top five.
Lund and Anderson also found themselves quite lucky in all aspects of the leaderboard in the top men’s list as well as for top teams. Anderson took the top men’s singles with an 89 as Lund was second with an 85 and Lee Coon of Kelly’s Flowers with a 79. Lund and Anderson swapped spots for top men’s series. Lund had the higher series with a 239 over Anderson’s 222 and Al Patten’s 221. Rustic Ridge also took both the team singles and team series victories.
Cindy Miller and Joe Miller of Roger’s Best Value Tire & Auto earned both team handicap singles and series wins. In the handicap singles, the pair scored a high of 237 over Rustic Ridge’s 234 and Potter’s Tires’ (Billy Schermerhorn and John Edwards) 220. Cindy and Joe scored a high series of a 659 over Rustic Ridge’s 641 and Potter’s Tires 633.
Cindy capped off her outing with a sweep of the women’s leaderboards over Kate Lloyd and Sheryl Thurston. All three ladies have been battling all season. Cindy scored a 79 in high singles while Lloyd had a 60 and Thurston with a 51. Cindy took the series with a 202 over Lloyd’s 170 and Thurston’s 129.
The South New Berlin Horseshoe Club meets every Wednesday night.
