NORWICH – NBT Bank’s latest Wall of Art installation features the collection owned by John Antonowicz.
Antonowicz, who by day serves as Chenango County’s Deputy Historian and Funeral Director at Wilson Funeral Home in Norwich, is an art collector in his spare time.
“John’s enthusiasm for our community and its history is infectious,” said Chenango Arts Council Executive Director Alecia O’Neil. “He held an exhibit with us last summer featuring Norwich-grown artists and local history, and it was an enormous success. We’re honored to be able to share a sample of it again with the community when they visit NBT.”
Antonowicz’s collection includes work from a variety of Norwich artists in various mediums.
“I enjoy collecting and the hunt to keep my collections expanding,” he said. “I have many paintings and I am glad to be able to show them to others.”
The artists featured on the wall include Howard Gohl, Robert Ward, Henry Drexler, Gertude Squires, Ted Whitney, Linda Mason, Jane Brooks and Rich Marchant.
Antonowicz’s collection will be displayed at NBT Bank until the end of June.
