NORWICH – Colorscape Chenango Arts Festival, Inc. seeks a part-time executive director with exceptional organizational and project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to foster community relationships. The person will become the voice and face of Colorscape and direct this high-quality arts festival held each September in downtown Norwich, NY.
The salaried, part-time position will commence in January 2024, preceded by a stipend-paid training period from August to December 2023.
The ideal candidate must prepare, manage, and report on budgets for all festival activities and programs. They must communicate effectively with the board of directors, committees, contractors, vendors, government officials, community businesses, and organizations. The director will oversee all facets of the event, including attending marketing functions. They will develop and coordinate advertisements and promotional materials, both printed and online. The executive director is expected to demonstrate leadership and a passion for the community.
Minimal qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, experience in grant writing, and a minimum of five years experience in the arts, non-profits, and/or event planning or equivalent. Proficient with Microsoft Office and familiar with Adobe Creative Suite. Applicants must have reliable means of transportation, including a valid driver’s license, and can lift approximately 50 pounds.

Recognized as one of the country's top 100 classic and contemporary craft shows by Sunshine Artist Magazine, Colorscape Chenango has celebrated premier artists in downtown Norwich since 1995.
This free, two-day festival in September features over 100 creators displaying and selling their paintings, sculptures, fabric art, fine crafts, photography, and more. Colorscape also offers nationally-renowned musical performers, poetry and literary arts, food, and interactive art activities for all ages.
The 2023 Colorscape will be held rain or shine on September 9 and 10 in East and West Parks in Norwich.
The Colorscape Chenango Arts Festival is made possible with public funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, and administered by The Earlville Opera House.
