CHENANGO COUNTY — Commerce Chenango is bringing the first ever Taste of Chenango event to the Chenango County Fairgrounds on Saturday, July 29 from 1 to 7 p.m. to celebrate local agriculture.
More than 50 vendors and exhibitors from around Chenango County will set up shop at the fairgrounds with an array of food, wine, beer, and agricultural products, with some offering free food and beverage sampling and most selling their wares.
Some vendors include Hidden Springs Brewhouse and the Madrona Tasting room offering beverage tastings, as well as food venues such as Nina's Pizzeria, Kozmo's Hometown Eatery, the Canasawacta Country Club, Smoke Out BBQ Food Truck, the Polkville Store, and the Columbus Public House will be bringing their ever-popular chicken barbecue.
There will also be a farmers' market showcasing locally-grown produce at the start of the event.
"We don’t have a farmers' market every week here in Norwich. I would love for people to support it, to see what it’s all about," said Commerce Chenango President and CEO Sal Testani. "It would be wonderful to show that the people of Norwich would love to support a farmers’ market like that."
The event is completely free to attend. Testani said he wants the event to serve as a celebration of Chenango County and all the products grown, produced, and sold here.
