SHERBURNE — Hillcrest Lavender Farm U-Pick is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Friday through Sundays located at 239 Stone House Road in Sherburne. U-Pick will continue until August 6. The gift shop is open the same hours as the U-pick field.

Hillcrest Lavender Farm owner Kathy Turner said, “This is the third week of bloom and it is just perfect for U-Pick. We provide the tools and supplies to cut your own lavender or you can purchase fresh-cut and dried bunches in the gift shop.”

Kathy said, “When the lavender blooms, which is now, we get about four good weeks and then my husband Eric starts the harvest to distill the Lavender.”

She explained that her husband distills the lavender in two stills to produce the oils from the plant. All of their sprays in the shop are from their lavender fields.

“The smell in the air is just gorgeous and we encourage people to come to watch the process,” Kathy said.

Customer Linda Blake Hall visited the lavender farm and purchased the lavender recipe book along with a few culinary products.

Hall said, “I made lavender cookies from the recipe book and products I bought in the beautiful gift shop. It was so fun.”
