NORWICH — The free Thursday Summer Concert Series show starts at 7 p.m. August 10 in East Park on Broad and Main streets with a fun, two steppin’,bluesy musical style performance by Nathan and the Zydeco Cha-Chas.
Chenango Blues Association President Eric Larsen said, “We are looking forward to welcoming Nathan and the Zydeco Cha-Chas back to Norwich after a too long absence. They are one of the very best practitioners of the southwest Louisiana dance music that so many people love and we can’t wait to see people two-stepping in the park.”
“You don’t get to hear this kind of music up in the northeast all that much, so don’t miss this great opportunity to hear some really good musicians play some really fun music,” he added.
Nathan Williams grew up in a Creole-speaking home in St. Martinville, Louisiana and sought out the music of Zydeco originators such as 1983 Grammy award winner, Clifton Chenier.
In 1985, Nathan formed the Zydeco Cha-Chas and since then has brought a unique take on regional South Louisiana music to all corners of the globe; from the Lincoln Center in New York to The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.
