NORWICH — Earlier this month NBT Bank announced the recipients of this year’s NBT Student Associate Scholarships. Student Associates Tristan Terry, Parker Walsh and John Spence, all of Norwich, have each earned a $1,500 scholarship.

Scholarships are awarded annually to students who have demonstrated excellence for more than one year in the Student Associate Program at NBT.

Terry is currently attending Siena College where he majors in Business. Walsh attends the University of Tampa where she majors in Marketing and Entrepreneurship. Finally, Spence attends Binghamton University where he majors in Economics.

“Our Student Associate Program is structured to give the best real-life experiences to the college students working with us,” said NBT President and CEO John H. Watt, Jr. “Our goal is to aid them in achieving a promising future. We hope that, as they return to their educational pursuits, they will leave here with enthusiasm and understanding that NBT is a very credible place with great people and great opportunities for building a career.”

NBT’s Student Associate Program gives college students a paid internship experience in one of the bank’s numerous departments, including operations, retail and commercial banking, information security, marketing, accounting and finance and more. This summer, 52 student associates were hired and worked at NBT locations throughout the bank’s footprint.
