NORWICH – Water services along South Broad Street in the City of Norwich were quickly shut off to businesses and residences early Thursday as crews continued work on the main water line.
A post on the city’s public Facebook page stated that crews are dealing with “something unplanned” and residents should tentatively “plan on a two hour period” without water.
“As we get further information we will keep you updated,” the post said.
The issue comes as workers make a final push to finish work in the downtown business district by the end of the week.
City officials said paving to even the grade on different sections of South Broad Street will start today in preparation for a final paving to be done by the New York State Department of Transportation in October.
