Golf: Norwich Stays Hot, Defeats Sus Valley

NORWICH - The Norwich Purple Tornado Golf team picked up its fourth straight win to start the season. Norwich defeated Sus Valley on Wednesday afternoon 235-275.

Matthew Brunick led all golfers with a low 43 while Julian Smith followed with a 44. Jacob Morris shot a 48 as Jacob Dowdall rounded out the scoring with a 49. Senior Jackson Sastri also received playing time as the sixth golfer.

Sus Valley's scores ranged from a 49 to a 58.

Norwich (4-0) will resume action on September 12 at home against Chenango Valley.

B-G Volleyball falls to Johnson City 3-1 on Tuesday. Alyssa Finch led the Bobcats with four aces and five kills. Kaylynn Crandall had eight assists while Allie Cafasso picked up three digs and Kaydence Brimmer finished with three aces in the loss.

Afton/Harpursville boys soccer defeats Bainbridge-Guilford 9-3 on Tuesday. The Crimson Knights score six goals in the second half. Toni Obeada led the Crimson Knights with three goals while Bob Mercilliott and Equan Patterson contributed with two goals each. Levi Russell scored his first varsity goal in the win.
