OTSEGO COUNTY – No arrests were made during an Underage Drinking Initiative by New York State Police Troop C, in Otsego County on September 12.
During the initiative, 14 businesses were checked. All 14 were in compliance and did not sell alcohol to an underaged operative. The following were checked:

- Mirabito, CR-11A, Oneonta NY 13820.
- Dollar General, SR-205, Laurens NY 13820.
- Mirabito, NY-205, Hartwick NY 13348.
- Stewarts, Chestnut St, Cooperstown NY 13326.
- Mirabito, Chestnut St, Cooperstown NY 13326.
- Dollar General, 4892 NY-28, Cooperstown NY 13326.
- Citgo, NY-28, Cooperstown NY 13326.
- J&J Liquor Store, Commons Dr, Cooperstown NY 13326.
- Apple Food Store, NY-28, Oneonta NY 13807.
- Mirabito, SR-23, Oneonta NY 13820.
- Speedway, SR-23, Oneonta NY 13820.
- Mirabito, Oneida St, Oneonta NY 13820.
It is unlawful to sell, deliver or give away alcoholic beverages to a person under the age of 21.
During the Underage Drinking Initiative, retail establishments are checked using a trooper in plain clothes and one or several underage operative(s) who cannot lie about their age or give a fake date of birth (if asked). When asked for ID, they must show their real ID. All New York State driver’s licenses are horizontal if the license holder is over the age of 21; if the license holder is under the age of 21, they are vertical.
