OXFORD, NY - We are now at the height of the summer growing season, when all the tender care of plants and vines and beds is coming to fruition in an abundance of tomatoes, peppers, squash, potatoes, onions, and garlic, and the greens of early summer — spinach, head lettuce, salad greens -- are coming back with the cooler weather. And you will find all of it freshly picked at the Oxford Farmers’ Market this Saturday. 9:00 am - Noon on Lafayette Park in Oxford.
In addition to a huge variety of fresh-picked seasonal produce, vendors at the Market will also have beautiful dairy products and regional cheeses; locally raised and processed beef, lamb, and pork; artisanal breads and baked goods; locally grown and milled grains and flours; herbs and teas; maple syrup, honey and hand-dipped beeswax candles; handmade soaps, lotions and lip balms; homemade treats for dogs; exquisitely hand-crafted items for the kitchen and home; and artisan fiber products from local producers. Every product sold at the Market comes from a local source, and from the skilled hands of your neighbor farmers, food producers and artisans.
Popular local performer Mike Davis will be performing in the Bandstand, 10 a.m. - noon. All events at the Market are free and open to the public.
