CHENANGO COUNTY - All three of Chenango County's local cross country teams were in action over the weekend. Norwich and UV/GMU competed in the McDaniel-Baxter Invitational while Bainbridge-Guilford/Afton/Harpursville ran in the Vernon-Verona Sherrill Pre-State Invitational.
The UV/GMU Storm boys placed 12th in the team competition with Vestal winning both the girls and boys races.
UV/GMU's Noah Pain led the local boys with a 14th place finish (14:58.40). Norwich's Nic Sutton came away with 23rd place, finishing his run in 15:14.30. Alex Kemnah pushed through with a 35th place finish for the Storm (16:00.50).
For the girls, UV/GMU's Andrea Favinger continues to run her best as she finished 10th with a time of 17:46.70. Norwich's Annie Boland came in 38th (20:19.50) while Kyra Brunick-Davis finished 48th out of 105 runners with a time of 21:01.
Ethne Degan finished ninth in the VVS invitational for the Bainbridge-Guilford/Afton/Harpursville Bears with a time of 20:14.50 around the 3.1 mile course.
All teams should be competing in the Pathfinder Village meet in Edmeston this afternoon (Tuesday) at 4:30 p.m.
