WALTON – Coming off a win against Holland Patent, the Greene Trojans field hockey team resumed MAC league play on the road against Walton. Greene picked up their second league win and their fourth overall in the 5-1 victory.
The score was tied after the first quarter as Greene’s Claire Flanagan and Walton’s Chasidy Constable both netted a goal within a minute apart. Greene pushed through to keep Walton off the board and add more goals in the second quarter and beyond.
Madi Wise earned her first varsity goal off an assist by teammate Nadia Brown while Ahraya Whitt punched in her second goal of the season to make it 3-1 Greene at halftime.
Wise also added an assist on Nadia Brown’s goal as Claire Flanagan contributed to the assist on Josie Dutcher’s goal in the second half.
Goalkeepers Braelyn Blakeslee and Mya Leggett split time for the Trojans, where they combined with four saves.
Greene looks to improve to an even 3-3 divisional record this afternoon as they head to Afton/Harpursville.
