Fall Evening Of Fine Dining At The Butternut Valley Grange
Published: September 20th, 2023

GILBERTSVILLE – A fall evening of Fine dining will be held on Sunday, October 8th at The Butternut Valley Grange Hall, 7 Bloom Street, Gilbertsville. The evening will start at 5:30 pm with hor d’oeuvres and hand-crafted non-alcoholic mocktails; attendees will have a choice of Apple-Ginger, Cucumber, Rosemary-Pear or Blueberry-Hibiscus drinks. A three-course gourmet dinner will be served at 6:30 pm. The meal will begin with a Caesar salad and a table bread basket. For the main course, attendees will have a choice of either roasted chicken (choice of breast or leg) or a vegetarian lemon-pasta. The meal will be served with a delightful array of roasted vegetable dishes, including cauliflower with tarragon and apples, brussels sprouts with dried cranberries, sweet baby carrots and red potatoes. Dessert will follow with ice cream and selected toppings, plus a table fruit plate and assorted cookies.

Grange member, Emily Campbell, a serial entrepreneur and attorney, will lead a team of Grangers in preparing this semi-formal, sit-down dinner experience for Grange members and non-members alike. Her law office, The Campbell Firm PLLC, is sponsoring the event as a fundraiser for The Butternut Valley Grange, underwriting the costs of the event; attendees will buy tickets for the dinner, which is expected to sell-out.

“Chef Emily”(as she is known from her experience as a former restaurant owner) said, “The Grange, like many non-profits, needs additional resources to do all the community building and charitable work that it does. Having my law firm support The Grange in this way means a lot to me because sharing food is one of the best ways to bring people together.”

Although Chef Emily’s restaurant, Brooklyn Chow, located in Crown Heights, Brooklyn closed in 2017, you can still find Chef Emily posting pictures of dishes she creates and reviewing restaurants she likes on social media, including on Instagram @brooklyn_chow. Chef Emily noted, “My love of cooking came from my grandfather, a Hungarian immigrant, who had a brief stint in New York before settling down South, where he operated several very popular restaurants from the 1940’s to the 1960’s. I think my grandfather, who was very much into charitable activities, would have supported the good work The Grange does and would be very proud of this effort.”

Emily’s New York City-based law firm has a business-centric practice with an emphasis on corporate law, commercial litigation and intellectual property law (excluding patents), and it has a growing criminal law practice, as well. Although its offices are located Downstate, her law firm represents Upstate clients, too, including a farm that brands and sells its products through Taste of NY.
