SHERBURNE – A large portion of Chenango County senior citizens are dependent on support from local organizations such as the Sherburne Adult Day Health Center.
The center is recognizing the important role of local staff during National Adult Day Health Services Week.
Having an Adult Day Health Care Program in Chenango County is extremely important as it allows individuals to stay in their homes, explained President and CEO of Crouse Community Center DJ Raux. It provides seniors another valuable choice to help them stay independent for as long as possible, he said.
The center is open from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and is located at 38 West State Street in Sherburne.
“Our staff of certified nursing assistants (CNA) and registered nurse (RN) site manager are truly amazing and ensure every program registrant receives the individualized care needs they may have while at our program,” he added.
According to Center Director Kate Hatton, the center is one of two adult day centers affiliated with Crouse Community Center; a non-profit Nursing Home in Morrisville and is the only approved medical based day center for adults ages 21 and over in Chenango County.
