Boys Soccer: Greene Earns Shutout Victory Vs B-G

GREENE – On Thursday, the Greene Trojans boys’ soccer team hosted the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats in a MAC league matchup. The Trojans came out on top with a 6-0 shutout victory. Both teams have been playing well in their own separate divisions with B-G reigning in Division I and Greene sitting behind Afton/Harpursville in Division II.

Greene held a 5-0 lead at halftime and were led by Kloden Rapp, who scored four of the six goals. With his breakthrough performance, Rapp now has nine goals on the season. Jon Westcott and Trevor Ketcham also scored goals in the win while Jonah Browning and Kenny Baucas added assists.

Jackson Roth and Braeden Goerlich were perfect in the net and combined with four saves while the Trojans’ defense held B-G to six shots on goal. The Bobcats’ Collin Dicks made eight saves in the loss.

Greene is now 3-4 on the season while being 1-1 in their division and 3-1 in the MAC overall. Greene hosts non-league opponent Johnson City on Saturday at noon.

Bainbridge-Guilford (4-3) has a bit of a break before traveling to Delhi on Thursday, September 28 at 4:30 p.m.

Greene Swimming falls to Chenango Forks 103-38. Junior Savannah Nowalk earns the win in both the 50 yard freestyle and in the 100 yard freestyle while senior Mallory Jeffrey takes the top spot in the 100 breaststroke with a season-best time of 1:50.87.
