NORWICH – The Development Chenango Corporation (DCC) was awarded a $600,000 grant as part of the Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) specifically for the Downtown Norwich Small Project Grant Fund.
The purpose of the grant is to stimulate investment in properties in downtown Norwich as well as revitalize mixed-use commercial areas allowing property owners to improve their buildings or engage in transformational projects.
Approximately $350,000 of the funding will be used for building renovations.
Property Owners in Downtown Norwich who are in the target area of the DRI will be able to apply for matching funds with a maximum of $100,000 for their building renovation expenses. The proposed work will be reviewed and approved by the Local Planning Committee (LPC), NYS Historic Preservation Office, NYS Homes and Community Renewal (HCR), and NYS.
This is a reimbursement grant. All work must be completed and paid for prior to receiving any reimbursement. The project must be inspected, and copies of paid invoices and checks must be provided to receive reimbursement – no cash payments will be allowed for reimbursement.
The minimum match requirement for private awardees is 50% of the total project cost. The minimum match requirement for Non-profit awardees is 25% of the total project.
This is a competitive process; all completed applications will be reviewed by a local selection committee and must be submitted no later than November 15, 2023, with your application fee of $250.
