HARPURSVILLE – After two rough losses, the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats felt confident going into Saturday’s match-up against Harpursville/Afton. The Bobcats took full control of this game to pick up the 40-0 shutout victory and their second win of the season.
B-G was led by their leading running back Declyn Marshfield who found open holes from great blocking by the offensive line. He scored five touchdowns and had six carries for a total of 130 yards. Some of the offense was set up from turnovers recovered by the defense.
The Bobcats’ special teams also scored a safety in the first quarter off a muffed punt from the Hornets. B-G took a dominant 34-0 lead at the half.
Noah Janida and Parker Buttice were also big play makers on the offense. Janida scored a 16 yard rushing touchdown while Buttice caught a 58-yard pass from Connor Davy, who also scored a rushing touchdown in the win.
B-G (2-3) remains hopeful as they travel to Deposit-Hancock on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
