OXFORD — Fall festivities begin from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, October 7, at LaFayette Park in downtown Oxford. Enjoy Pumpkin carvings, a scarecrow contest, music, food trucks, a kid zone, vendors and more.
Oxtoberfest Committee Member and Vice President of Promote Oxford Now Jessica Henninge said, “We want to welcome fellow residents to celebrate with a beautiful autumn festival right at home, as well as our surrounding neighbors. We welcome them to join in on the fun right here in Oxford.”
She said, ““I love that we bring so much talent, craft, and artistry to our beautiful Lafayette Park that’s held memories for generations.”
She said almost all of the different moving parts of the event involved so many local members of the community coming together in one way or another.
Event Coordinator Sarah Smith said, “There will be pumpkin carvings by Ian McWeeney. He’s local resident and has been carving for over 10 years. He also teaches Carving classes and gives presentations at events throughout the county.
