HANCOCK – The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats resumed play against Deposit-Hancock on Monday afternoon, where they held on to a 48-46 win. The Bobcats led 34-19 after play was disrupted on Friday night.
Deposit-Hancock put up 33 points in the second half, but B-G was able to stand their ground and win due to holding the steady lead from early on. The Bobcats’ defense also stopped a big two-point conversion.
The Bobcats were led by both Connor Davy and Declyn Marshfield, who continue to have strong seasons. Davy, the Sophomore quarterback, threw nine completions for 141 yards with two receiving touchdowns before rushing for three himself. He had 11 carries for 150 yards.
Marshfield, who is a utility player in being a running back, a wide receiver, and the kicker, had 194 all-purpose yards with 122 receiving yards and 72 rushing. He scored four touchdowns, kicked two extra points, and caught a successful two-point conversion.
Senior Damon Seymour picked up 133 all-purpose yards and was a asset to the team’s total of 379 rushing yards with 123.
Junior Elliott Briggs led the Bobcats defense with one sack and had eight tackles while Damon Seymour had a total of 12 tackles as James Hogroian finished with 11 tackles.
B-G is now even at 3-3 on the season with a league game on Friday against Newark Valley at 7 p.m.
