SHERBURNE – On Thursday, the Sherburne-Earlville Marauders hosted Clinton for senior night, falling 5-0. It was a great team effort by the Marauders despite the evening’s outcome.
Prior to the kick-off, all seniors were recognized, even Clinton’s 10 seniors were honored.
Congratulations to S-E’s Avery Parsons, Balin Olsen, Adam Paliana, and Aidan Camenga for their dedication to the boys’ soccer program.
S-E saw several great opportunities throughout the contest with great touches by Balin Olsen, Will Leinbach, Owen Brown, Parker Goedel, and even Tristan Cox in the final 30 seconds of the game. However, Clinton was fast and was able to quickly kick the ball away.
S-E’s Michael Behret played superb defense, forcing his mark to go off-sides a few times to settle in with a good advantage offensively. Leinbach found great breakaways for the Marauders’ offense, but nothing came through for these hard-working S-E athletes, who stayed motivated throughout the game. Goalkeeper Avery Parsons was phenomenal with several blocked shots with Clinton kicking some challenging shots on goal.
S-E will play its final game of the season this evening against Camden at 5 p.m.
