GREENE – The Greene Fire Department will hold an open house on Halloween Night.
The trick-or-treat time set by the Village of Greene is from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31.
The station, located is at 8 North Canal Street, has a tradition of giving out candy for the holiday.
This year, the emergency vehicles and trucks will be on display. The station will be open for the public with tours and safety information being offered by FD volunteers.
“This year, we have an overabundance of fire safety gear so we'll also be quizzing kids on fire safety and giving out prizes for answers,” said Greene FD treasurer Mikayla Morgan.
The department has 28 active members, all volunteers.
“Anyone who comes will be invited to try on the gear as well. We also have a member who hopefully will be bringing her search and rescue dog in,” added Morgan.
