GREENE — Lloyd O. Jackson Post 692 of the American Legion in Greene will hold a Pearl Harbor Remembrance Ceremony on December 7 at the bridge over the Chenango River in town (Washington Street Bridge) at 10:55 a.m. This local time coincides with the attack time at Pearl Harbor.
The ceremony is relatively short. A prayer, a few words, dropping a biodegradable wreath in the river, a rifle volley and 'Taps' are the basics that make up the approximately 15-minute ceremony. Everyone is invited and may attend.
