RICHFIELD SPRINGS – Fresh off hosting the tip-off tournament, the Sherburne-Earlville Marauders boys basketball team picked up its second win of the season in a tight 56-50 game against Richfield Springs/Owen D Young.
Both teams showed strength early on in the contest, but S-E's second and third quarter efforts pushed them ahead. Richfield Springs/ODY threatened in the fourth quarter with 23 points, but S-E held on to their small, yet valuable lead.
Darren Miles repeated efforts from the first two games of the season with a team-high 15 points, knocking down three three's. Garret Winton followed suit with another impressive game, scoring nine points as Nick Hull finished with eight points. S-E also finished 13-for-18 in free-throws at 72 percent from the line.
S-E and Richfield Springs/ODY will meet again at Sherburne-Earlville on January 9.
S-E (2-2) looks to stay confident as they host Clinton on Thursday at 7 p.m.
