GREENE– After hosting the Clyde Cole tournament last weekend, the Oxford/Greene Blackhawks wrestling team held their first home match at Greene high school against Sidney. The Blackhawks came away with a 54-24 victory. There were only three matches wrestled while the rest of the weight classes earned forfeits. Oxford-Greene took seven forfeit wins compared to Sidney’s three.

Coming off a fifth place finish in the Clyde Cole tournament, eighth grader Kade Mustin picked up his fourth win of the 2023 season as he pinned Sidney’s Owen Mott in 2:59 in the 124 weight class. Teammate Derek Renfer pinned the Sabers’ Freddie Becker in 3:24 in the 138 weight class.

Oxford/Greene’s Dallyn Camp fell in the 131 weight class in a hard fought 5:40 match to Sidney’s Caden Macpherson.

Oxford/Greene’s next scheduled wrestling meet will be at Deposit/Hancock on Wednesday, Dec 13 at 6 p.m.
