SHERBURNE – Coming off a tight game against Richfield Springs/ODY, the Sherburne-Earlville Marauders boys’ basketball team returned home to face league opponent Clinton. The fourth quarter was the deciding factor in this game and S-E came out with the close 51-47 victory.
Both teams showed strengths in the first half of play with S-E taking a brief 29-27 lead at halftime. The intensity only built up for the final 16 minutes as the game was tied at 37 at the end of the third quarter. Dilen Maceda and Nick Hull led the Marauders to victory with their strong efforts throughout the entire contest.
Maceda led S-E with 16 points, knocking down two three’s and collecting 13 rebounds while Hull had 10 points. Aaron Key and Garret Winton continue to be great contributors for the Marauders’ offense as Key finished with nine points and Winton with eight points.
These two teams will meet again on January 19.
S-E (3-2) looks to keep the momentum going as they travel to Mount Markham on Monday at 7 p.m.
