OXFORD – Coming off a close loss to Marathon on Tuesday, the Oxford Blackhawks boys’ basketball team welcomed Tri-Valley’s Morris to Oxford High School. Morris fired up in the first three quarters to take the 62-44 victory.
Morris combined with 32 points alone in the first half before finishing up with 24 points in the third quarter, leaving Oxford unable to catch up, despite a strong start themselves.
Caden Rifanburg, Donovan Rickard, and Jared Sheridan led the Blackhawks with a hot start in the first eight minutes of play, combining for 15 points, the best of the night for the home team. Rifanburg finished with 14 points, knocking down three three-pointers as Rickard had 11 points with two three’s. Jared Sheridan contributed with eight points while Ben Sheridan had six points in the loss.
Oxford (1-2) has plenty of practice time to boost their confidence as their next game will be on Tuesday, December 19 at Deposit-Hancock at 7:15 p.m.
