GREENE – On Tuesday, the Greene Trojans boys’ swim team hosted Windsor with strong swimmers on both sides. Greene had two swimmers achieve best times while others gave great efforts.
Austin deHaan opened up the meet with a personal best time in the 200 yard freestyle to give Greene six points on the board. He swam a best 2:13.28 for first place. deHaan also achieved first in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:25.23) while teammate Jon Westcott came in second.
Westcott also earned a new personal best time in the 100 yard butterfly event. He swam a best of 1:11.45 in second place in a tough race against Windsor’s top 1:06.52.
Drake Malmquist came away with two first place finishes in his respective events. He won the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 57.38 while Sherman Ludolph came in fifth place. Malmquist also won the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:17.73.
Malmquist, Ludolph, Gavin Demars, and Hunter Becker took first as a team in the 400 yard freestyle relay (4:30.68). Becker finished first in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 6:35.62 in the lengthy event while Demars completed the event in 7:18.44 for fourth place. Becker also earned first place in the 50 yard freestyle with Ludolph in fourth place and Andrew Roberts in sixth.
Greene hosts Chenango Forks on Wednesday, December 20 at 5:30 p.m.
