COLUMBUS - Golden Artist Colors is incredibly excited to share the launch of its brand new QoR Artist Watercolors Portrait Colors Set in partnership with award-winning watercolorist and author, Ali Cavanaugh.
Combining expressionism and realism in a way that inspires and captivates, Cavanaugh’s large-scale watercolors have appeared in museums and galleries around the globe. Her work has been featured in numerous publications and is in private and corporate collections throughout North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
Ali Cavanaugh’s portraits capture more than the delicate features of people, but also the tender, unseen details that transcend understanding. The layering techniques demonstrated in her work breathe life into her subjects and create a deep and luminous aura that captivates viewers.
The six colors included in the set create the ideal palette for achieving effects that distinguish Cavanaugh’s artwork from traditional watercolor portraiture.
Two of the colors, Perylene Crimson and Ultramarine Turquoise, were developed specifically for the Ali Cavanaugh Portrait Colors Set. They help create a wide range of dark to light skin tone color mixtures. Also included in the set are Nickel Azo Yellow, Pyrrole Orange, Sap Green, and Payne’s Gray.
“I have been a committed QoR Watercolor user since 2014, so to have the opportunity to launch this set in partnership with Golden is truly incredible,” said Cavanaugh. “Painting portraits allows me to express my subjects in their most introverted, pure state. My portraiture, figurative realism, is aimed at sharing the mystery of life; my subject’s existence. It’s this intangible thing that makes you want to know more. It sparks your curiosity.”
The Ali Cavanaugh Portrait Colors Set is a versatile palette of six- 5 ml colors priced at $54.99 (MSRP) and is shipping now, so be sure to ask your local retailer for them.
