GREENE - Since falling to Sidney in the fourth game of the season, the Greene Lady Trojans have been on a roll, including coming off a big 53-26 win against neighboring Oxford on Friday. Greene settles in with their fourth straight win and is now 7-1 on the season, which leads MAC division II.
Greene continues to hold their opponents to single digit scoring in the first half, where they themselves can excel on offense to build a big lead.
Greene took a big 30-8 lead at halftime. First half efforts were led by Josie Dutcher, who excelled with three of four three-pointers in the first quarter alone for the Trojans offense.
Oxford felt more comfortable in the final fourth quarter, posting 12 team points. The Blackhawks were led by Raya Warner with eight points as Margaret Rovente had seven points and went three-for-four at the free-throw line in the loss. Oxford went to the line 23 times, but struggled with just eight made attempts.
Dutcher finished with 21 points for Greene as Mia Yahner settled in with 10 points and Cali Knapp had eight points.
Greene (7-1) travels to Bainbridge-Guilford on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. while Oxford looks to get back on track against Unadilla Valley on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.

Sherburne-Earlville defeated Canastota 58-31 and improves to 9-4 on the season. Alex Grzymkowski excelled with 20 points and Hannah Todd-Rogers posted her fourth double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds. S-E hosts Waterville on Thursday at 7 p.m.
Boys’ Basketball:
Otselic Valley falls to McGraw 61-31. Braeden Davis led the Vikings with 13 points and Cole Warren had six points and led the team with eight rebounds. OV (2-9) hosts Stockbridge Valley on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Bowling:
UV/Norwich sweeps Afton/Harpursville. Dawson Robinson led the Storm with a 763 series, including a 278 in the first game and Jacob Prentice had a 703 series with a 247 in his second game. Aidan Smith bowled a 606 series for the Crimson Knights.
Brynn Grant led the Storm girls with a 593 series and bowled a team-high 222 in the second game. Jaelin Brown bowled a 401 series for Afton/Harpursville and Gracie Bomboy finished with a 400 series, including having the team’s highest game with a 165.
