NORWICH – The Norwich Theater Company, Inc. (NTCI) will present three encore performances of Always…Patsy Cline.
This musical play, written by Ted Swindley, is based on a true story. It tells the tale of a fan who met and became fast friends with Patsy Cline.
The shows will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, January 19 and Saturday, January 20. Then at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 21. The performances will be at the Art Council’s Martin W. Kappel Theater, located at 27 West Main Street, in Norwich.
The musical play, complete with down home country humor, true emotion and even some audience participation, includes many of Patsy’s unforgettable hits such as Crazy, I Fall to Pieces, Sweet Dreams and Walking After Midnight…27 songs in all. The show’s title was inspired by Cline’s letters to Seger, which were consistently signed “Love Always… Patsy Cline.”
NTCI initially presented this show in March of 2021 under the direction of Richard Heim. Due to the circumstances of the time, audience size was severely limited, and audience participation was not allowed. Many people have expressed a desire to have this show return to the local stage.
Returning as Louise Seger will be Earlville native Deborah Cogswell Pierce, who has appeared in many NTCI and other productions. In the title role will be Marty Kuhn, a founding and active NTCI Board member. Local musicians will form the ‘Bodacious Bobcats’ – the show’s onstage band.
Tickets are available at the Chenango Arts Council office, at Service Pharmacy in Norwich, New Berlin, and Sherburne, or online at www.norwichtheatercompany.org.
