NORWICH – Coming off a close win against Oneonta, the Norwich Purple Tornado boys' basketball team was tested again on Friday against Sus Valley. Norwich pulled away with a 55-47 win. The Purple Tornado is rolling on with a five-game win streak since the UV Holiday tournament. With this win, Norwich improves to 7-4 on the season.
Norwich's best efforts came to start the second half. Sus Valley was held to just three points in the third quarter, which allowed Norwich to go ahead to extending their three point lead at halftime. The Purple Tornado went ahead 41-27 at the end of the third quarter. They kept a steady pace in the final eight minutes, even with Sus Valley threatening late in the contest.
Steven Dowdall paved the way for Norwich with 19 points as he hit three three-pointers and went four-for-seven at the foul line. Colin Olds finished with 14 points, including six points in the first and fourth quarters. Graham Burton scored 12 points while Jacob Morris, coming off a 20 point performance, settled for five points in the win.
